In the 29th EBES Conference – Lisbon, the best paper award went to
“Optimal Policies, Middle Class Development and Human Capital Accumulation under Elite Rivalry” by Elena Sochirca from Universidade do Minho, EEG, Portugal and Pedro Cunha Neves from Universidade da Beira Interior, Portugal.

Runner-up paper is “Internal Capital Markets, Ownership Structure, and Investment Efficiency: Evidence from Taiwanese Business Groups” by Yin-Hua Yeh from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan and James Juichia Lin from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan.
Third paper is “Institutions’ Investment Horizon, Herding, and Stock Returns” by Muhammad Sabeeh Iqbal from Bilkent University, Turkey; Aslihan Salih from TED University, Turkey; and Levent Akdeniz from Bilkent University, Turkey.
